Through the continuous effort and support of Tris Weller of Weller and Associates, the third Tiki Open Golf Tournament is scheduled for 2010 to benefit Independence House.   The tournament, will take place on Saturday June 19th at the
Twin Brooks Golf Course  in Hyannis, MA.

Tris is now accepting registrations and sponsorships for the tournament.

Victims  of sexual assault and or harassment as a result of this bill can now go to court to  file a restraining order against a perptrator ; the key element of this new law , is thast the perpetrator  does not have to be a family member ; in addition the victim is not required to be in a cuurent relationship or have had a past relationship with the perpetrator  to  file. This  order is a civil order , but if violated wil be regarded as a criminal matter. Massachusetts is now one of 39 states  with this legal option for victims of sexual assault/harrassment. T

Education staff will be at Sandwich High School all day Monday & Friday (February 8th & 12th) presenting workshops to the Freshman health classes and Human Relations classes regarding Teen Dating Violence & Healthy Relationships.

Independence House thanks Sandwich High School for partnering with us during Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month to educate and raise awareness with their students.
